How Computer Animation was Created

John Lasetter was the pioneer of computer animation. He first got the idea while working for Disney. At the time, animation was done by hand without computer interference, which was really time-consuming. When he realised computers could help in the process, he started a project to create the first digitally animated film. Disney fired him for this as they thought it ruined the 'magic of traditional animation'.

But Lasetter did not give up and continued his project with a small film company which would later be renamed Pixar. They created the first film that was animated completely on a computer-Toy Story.

Pixar became a massive success in the film industry, and so did computer animations. Disney then bought Pixar for around $4 billion for their technology used for animations.

The reason Disney fired Lasetter became the reason they bought his company!
